I have heard this myself only lately where it started ????.

Some one possibly lost a few shrimps after pruning but was there any thing else wrong with that tank.

I have never pruned any of my plants heavily in saying that I have never had a problem.

In fact any floating/broken Anubias I will put them into the fry net with the breeding shrimps including a few Red nosed shrimps and never a problem.

I am expecting 40 C parva and 10 Ninja shrimps in the day or so, I will be pruning the plants and straight into the fry net as per usual if there was any danger I would not be doing it.

To be honest I do not think I have ever had my water tested as far as I know it is a softer water (soap lathers very easily) I keep the pH about 7.0 as my water supply can be 8.0+ during the hot summer months reason being I live in a Coastal holiday resort area, at the same time the Chlorine is very high.

Follow that info I sent you especially concerning your water and your water supply.

By asking all the right questions you will learn and get into less trouble.

Yellow/Golden Shrimps. Do not mix with Cherries as you will finish up with "Runts" in other words a nothing Shrimp.

    Yellow never had them.

As far as eating plants I would say that is a huge NONO but they will eat the Indian Almond Leaves and an Iceberg Lettuce leaf.

If they ate plants you would never see a planted Shrimp tank.

How can I "grow" this amount of algae on aquarium decoration?

How often should I replace water and a few percent?

That is a very strange video with all that algae its not on all the plants.

With all those shrimps why have they not eaten it all?

There is practically zero algae in my Shrimp tank its on most of the Anubias but nothing to worry about.

Water change I store my water always recommended for the Darwins and Ninjas.

I change 30-35% weekly remember I run two filters the Eheim Pro11 and a UGF.
