Red face Assassin Snails & Shrimps in this tank Please Help

    http://www.shrimpnow.com/forum/show...nal-Tetra-tank

This is a photo of my tank and some how I picked up stinking hitch hiker snails.

I had a small Clown Loach in there for months and then no snails for over a month so I transferred him to my 5ft tank with the other 9 CLs

About one month on for some reason I am seeing the odd snail on the front of the tank (naturally it gets squashed).

I am thing of getting one Assassin Snail to finish the job off I do not want to bred them.

What are your thoughts on that please.

I have Cherries and Red Nosed Darwin Shrimps (breeding) in this tank.

Unfortunately, I found a proof that Helena snails hunt and kill shrimps. One of my friends on another forum managed to capture a moment:

This last photo shows Helena leaves after kill, it didn't eat that poor shrimp.

I had the opposite thing happen.. I got two assassin snails and four Amano Shrimp, and the Amanos ate the snails within 72 hours.

    Hi Keith,

Wondering if you could get assassin snails in Aus. How did you go?

I need some for my tank with too many snails to reasonably get out. Dont want to get the fish people suggest as they will decimate my other fish.

If you could give me a heads up that would be great.

    Cheers,

    Dan

As far as I know they are on the banned list but that does not mean they are not in Aust.

I have not found any at all.

I am also having a snail problem in my shrimp tank. I have assassins in another tank but I am afraid to put them with my shrimp.
