View Full Version : Chloram-X

I have been using a simple dechlor, but got my hands on some Chloram-X recently. It is basically a generic, powdered version of Amquel. I have seen a few rumours of it being bad for shrimp. I have used it for a month (4 water changes) with no problem. I think that it will be okay, but want to be sure.

Has anyone else had any experience/heard that it may be bad for shrimp?

Oh yeah, another related question. I have heard that Chloram-X is sometimes added to the water in the shipping bags of fish/shrimp. The idea is that it will neutralize any ammonia which may build up during shipping; resulting in healthier shrimp. I am going to send a few shrimp to a friend and was wondering if this would be a good idea. I have the stuff already.
