Hi Folks,

I'm trying out something which i have never done before. Usually i would use HC for carpet thus I'm setting up a new tank. Does anyone tried using moss as carpet? What moss would you recommend?

Personally I'm thinking of using tawain moss but it seem to be very long and untidy..

Christmas moss? US fessiden?

Cheers:)

Maybe green sock moss, because it doesn't branch out (but it's hard to get). I've seen some carpets of peacock moss and they were quite good. Fissidens is fine, but you shouldn't touch the substrate while it's spreeding (it lasts longtime). Other option is to use a piece of plastic, to add some silicon and put some substrate above it (to hide it) and then tie the mos into that surface, so that it's better fixed than if you just put it on the substrate with no atachments.

What do you meant by do not touch the substrate? I planned to use wire mesh as the layout
