Hello,

If you've ever had cloudy water from an algae bloom, you'll know how irritating and sometimes difficult they are to eradicate, especially when you use a nutrient-rich sustrate. Today I found an incredibly simple and easy way to dramatically reduce the problem, if not cure it altogether!

Simply add a power filter and encase it in a sock. I used a mini aquaflow filter with a small sports sock around the water inlet. The sock should filter out the algae and reduce the cloudiness dramatically. Sure, my sock is now green, but it did the trick and I never was the sporty type.

Not a major breakthrough, but a good tip for dealing with these dreaded algae blooms.
