I just received some mosura CRS. I also got some plants for free from her. what are these two plants? do they need CO2 to survive??

the one with the big leaves looks like a type of hydrocolyte (not sure if i spelled that right). They are fairly easy to take care of so you won't need c02. i dont know what the other plant is.

The first is Hydrocoytle leucocephala, aka pennywort, and the 2nd is Myriophyllum mattogrossense, aka water milfoil. Both are great plants. I love the look of pennywort in my shrimp tank.

The M. matogrossense does not do so well without CO2 injection. I'm not sure about the pennywort, though. It might just grow smaller leaves.

Pennywort grows great without CO2. What I've noticed also is that the leaves tend to stay smaller than with CO2.
