Does anyone use a UV on there tanks they improve water quality

As I know, UV does not improve water quality. It kills bacteria and other living things going out of filter.
It should be good to prevent disseases this way. But UV makes water sterile, reducing floating microorganism in water.
So there should be less foot for shrimplets in tank.
I have UV, but in shrimp tanks I used it only once. And it was shrimp+fish tank.

Thanks for that I was worried about the microorganism getting killed off I will remove the UV before I get any CRS for the tank not got any yet and the tank is empty of fish I might have a chance of some on the 19th so hopefully they will be avaliable.
