View Full Version : Plants' Trace Elements mix compatibility with CRS & RCS

I was wondering if PMDD plant fertilizing with the Trace Elements Mix will cause any problems with the Shrimps? I am curious because my HC and moss are turning yellowish. Chlorosis if i am not mistaken are the symptom.

I am using ADA's Brighty-K and MgSO4 for the plants, but they are still turning yellow. I am using CO2 and 200W of light for a 40L aquarium. Water Temperature is maintained at 25-27C.

I am not sure whether it is related, but the RCS stopped breeding at almost as the same time as i noticed the yellowing of the HC carpet.

Please advise on whether i should use the trace element mix, or should i go for those fertilizers like ADA Step-1, Step-2??

Below is the composition of the Trace Element Mix.

Boron 1.06%
Copper 0.23%
Iron 8.2%
Manganese 1.82%
Molybdenum 0.15%
Zinc 1.16%

The HC carpet is yellowing probably due to an iron deficiency , so probably iron supplements like Flourish iron would suffice . But I'm not sure if dosing that would affect the CRS and cherries
