Hi Xema,

Im very interested in your emersed crypts. I would also like to try growing them that way. Maybe you can give us some pics here?

Me too! I have a hydroponics system built into my discus tank for growing terrestial plants and Ive been contemplating trying some emersed growth aquatic plants (crypts / swords) for a while.

No problem, better than pictures is a video...

That is an old video, actually I have 4 different set up with different condition, mainly a peat swamp set up and neutral set up.

Some of my last flowering...

If you need some info about, maybe I can help you...

Just a stupid question:
Is it enough expense to keep the crypts in a flower-pot full of water on my window-sill? :D
No extra tank.
I would plant them in a mix of sand/soil/fertilizer.

If you can provide a eviroment humidity over 70% in the air, that sounds as a good and easy way to keep them.

Xema,

I was hoping to see some grasshoppers dancing in the music when I watch the videoclip. :joking:

What's the temperature you crypts are in?

I will try it with crypts or echinodorus. Together with mosses it looks very nice.

Grasshoppers could eat my crypts!!

About temperature, I can tell you on summer Temp can be over 32C and on winter I keep them arround 24C.

Moss prevents infections and fungus development.

Amazing Xema.
I have been growing aquariumplants in emersed conditions for some time now but never managed to get crypts to flower. I have tried both artificial light and natural sunlight to no avail.

Some pictures of my plants growing in emersed conditions.

Wow, I love your set-up, looking great! Strange that you can get all the other plants to flower but not the Crypts. What kind of soil mixture are you using? I'm assuming you keep a closed top to keep in the humidity right? Anyway you can post some more pics of your whole set-up please? Thanks!
