• Caridina cf. breviata bumble bee (Bumble Bee Shrimp)

    English name: Bumblebee Shrimp
Scientific name: Caridina cf. breviata "bumblebee"
    Origin: southern china
    Size male/female: 2.5 cm / 3 cm or 1 inch / 1.2 inch
    Water temperature: 18 - 26 C or 64 - 79 F
    Water Parameters: pH 6.5 - 7.5
High or low breeding form: high
    Behaviour: non-agressive
    Difficulty: easy
    Description:
Wide black or brown stripes on a transparent to milky white body.
Contrary to black bee shrimps the tail is not orange.
At first sight new bee shrimps and bumblebee shrimps are looking similar. Bumblebees have a black front part of the head while new bees have a white.
A crossbreeding with species of caridina cf. cantonensis could be possible.
    My experience on this species:
    Nothing special.
    Remarks:
A differentiation between so many similar species is difficult. That cannot be done by colors only.
